Comment
Add a CommentA fast paced thriller about free will and the ability to influence your destiny. Seems to be an attempt to cross a chick-flic with an action movie. Entertaining enough but a bit too whimsical for my taste.
Enjoyable in the unsubstantial way that popcorn is, as two once-and-future lovers try to trump Destiny with True Love. It does have some funny moments, though. One thing that puzzled me: the well-known actress Jennifer Ehle has a surprisingly tiny role as a bartender; is she supposed be the Chairman?
Entertaining but pretty light and fluffy
good entertainment, sci-fi <romance> is that a catagory? it's a long stretch to reinvent the romance movie and ya know Afflec gonna rib him on that title but it's a good show.
Interesting concept combined with "love conquers all" theme. Entertaining way to pass 2 hours. I read the short story on which this film was based--just FYI, the film has the same premise but the characters, plot, and setting are completely different.
This film has a childish premise, more appropriate for a sci-fi/drama television series than the big screen. As usual Matt Damon is good but in general the performances fall short, despite the talented cast. Smart and nerdy pre-teens might like 'The Adjustment Bureau' but not anyone who likes well-crafted dialogue, action sequences and intelligent plot twists.
Realy hard to buy into this film. It was even silly.
Fast-paced sci-fi type thriller. Keeps you guessing for quite a while what the "Bureau" is and what they're up to. Excellent cinematography and locales in NYC. If you liked "Inception," you'll probably like this one. // Director's commentary adds interesting insight into how/why things were done.
my only confusion was that the actress they had on the poster ewas different than the actress that was in the movie. Other than that with all its problems I have no complaints, I like it! I followed it and it was fun!
A film that would appear to define the genre of our times, i.e., Stories That Rod Serling Told In A Half-Hour. It's camera work and casting are impeccable. But it will collapse under the weight of its central conceit.
