Add a CommentThe guy who played Danny Greene was a great actor and it seems a bit fast paced and "flat" because its his entire life so of course they're gonna cut some stuff short but overall its a great film
Agree with the other comments--flat editing. Ray Stevenson is great and the whole movie could have been so much better. Filmed in Detroit...really an annoying part of the production.
Good ganster movie. Obviously I liked this a bit better just because it was a true story and took place in Ohio. The violence is pretty realistic and graphic and the acting is pretty strong all around.
Not bad, but not great. True-life story makes this more interesting to watch ....They keep trying to kill him, but keep missing, AND he fights back!! Plenty of bombings, sprinkled with violence. Movie feels flat.... but Stevenson does well, stiff at times, & fun watching Walken as a Jewish LoanShark. Rest of cast is awful.... including Kilmer as a detective, and stereotype Italian mobsters.
what a guy. what a life. he just keeps swinging and walking and they keep missing. this is done more old school with the FX versus all the cgi. it comes off more real and in the period. a good story.
Kind of a boring mob movie.
Not a GREAT movie - something about the editing or timing makes it a little flat - but still a great story performed by great actors. D'Onofrio, Walken, Kilmer, Stevenson (Titus Pullo from Rome) all fit seamlessly into the violent, self-important world of the 1970s mob. And boy, the unions won't like this movie at all. I grew up near Cleveland and I remember those years when there was a car-bombing seemingly every week - 36 in one year!
Good movie. Based on a true story, moves quickly, I would watch it again.
